Assassin's Creed Introduces Surprising Attack on Titan Event for Holiday Season
In a unexpected collaboration that defies traditional forecasts, the game developer has unveiled an digital collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering free additional story content for Shadows players.
Strange Questline Revealed
According to the official announcement, "A strange meeting draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where whispers of prohibited rituals and fearsome transformations echo through the shadows." The plot presents a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her friend from a clandestine sect.
The adventure centers on "peculiar trials and a terrifying enemy" and is open to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Iconic Places and Changes
The teaser showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser concludes with a striking moment showing a character, likely the prisoner, changing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Rewards and Additional Material
Players who successfully complete the adventure will acquire an exclusive katana alongside multiple items concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-themed costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Special weapons
- Survey Corps mount
Newest Free Story Addition
This release also introduces the game's latest complimentary story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange distinctive abilities: Naoe introduces a theatrical interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns.
